Fake News Alert 🚨 🚨
An Afghan proxy handle operating under the account @PanjabMarkhor is circulating highly inflammatory and fabricated security propaganda on X. The handle falsely claims that the globally proscribed terrorist outfit TTP has released a video depicting advanced attacks using quadcopter drones and laser weapons on Pakistani military posts in the Wermanado Mela area of Jamrud tehsil, Khyber District.
This claim is ABSOLUTELY FAKE and a massive visual and operational distortion based on the following facts:
Factual ground verification and military monitoring confirm that absolutely no such drone or “laser weapon” attack has occurred on any military post in Wermanado Mela or the wider Khyber district. State security forces maintain complete dominance and operational control over the region. The globally decimated TTP possesses zero capability to launch coordinated high-tech drone or laser strikes. The alleged “video evidence” is entirely fabricated—a heavily doctored amalgamation of recycled footage, digitally altered clips from other global conflict zones, or synthetic media used to project a non-existent threat.
Afghan-sponsored proxy networks and the digital media wings of terrorist outfits systematically invent and circulate highly doctored, hyper-exaggerated combat videos to construct a fraudulent illusion of advanced military capability. Having been relentlessly hunted, neutralized, and completely routed on the ground by Pakistan’s state security forces during continuous intelligence-based operations (IBOs), these terrorist syndicates are forced to rely entirely on digital fictions and cinematic fabrications to stay relevant.
Weaponizing doctored footage to falsely project the use of advanced weaponry like combat drones and lasers is a desperate psychological warfare tactic. It is explicitly designed to spread unwarranted public panic, project an artificial illusion of militant supremacy, manufacture fake morale for a defeated terrorist cadre, and pollute the global digital media space with state-targeted disinformation.
